Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your data.

Overview

FitPocket is a consumer wellness platform. We may collect information users provide directly, information generated through use of the product, and limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve FitPocket. FitPocket is designed to support GDPR and POPIA privacy principles through privacy-first controls, user rights support, and technical and organisational safeguards.

Information we collect

  • Account data: account identifiers, email address, optional phone number, authentication status, and related account settings.
  • Profile and onboarding information: goals, preferences, experience level, and other setup details users choose to provide.
  • Wellness inputs: fitness goals, notes, habits, measurements, body metrics, meal and nutrition inputs, workout and activity data, and progress photos users upload.
  • AI coach and chat content: prompts, messages, and relevant wellness context users provide when interacting with AI-powered features.
  • Usage and device data: feature usage, app or browser diagnostics, approximate technical identifiers, log data, and device information needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve FitPocket.
  • Support communications: messages, requests, and related information users send to FitPocket support.
  • Subscription status: Payments may be processed through Apple App Store or Google Play depending on the platform used. The applicable app store handles payment collection and billing details through the user's app-store account where applicable. FitPocket may receive limited payment or subscription status information needed to activate, manage, renew, or cancel access to paid features.

How we use information

We use personal information to provide, secure, maintain, personalise, and improve FitPocket, including fitness, nutrition, progress tracking, AI-powered features, account support, and subscription access.

  • Provide core product features, including plans, progress tracking, measurements, meal and workout support, and visualizations.
  • Personalise plans, progress insights, recommendations, and user experience.
  • Support AI-powered features and generate responses when users choose to interact with them and have granted AI processing permission.
  • Manage app-store subscriptions, paid feature access, renewals, cancellations, and entitlement status.
  • Provide support, respond to requests, and send service messages users opt in to receive.
  • Improve reliability, troubleshoot issues, measure product performance, and understand feature usage.
  • Protect FitPocket, users, and the service through security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and compliance operations.
  • Meet legal, accounting, tax, dispute, and regulatory obligations where applicable.

Sensitive wellness information

Wellness-related information may include body metrics, nutrition inputs, workout activity, progress photos, goals, notes, and AI coaching prompts. We treat this information as sensitive and use it primarily to provide and improve the FitPocket product experience.

AI and body-analysis processing

When users grant AI processing permission and use an applicable feature, FitPocket may share only the information needed for that feature with OpenAI for personalised plans, AI Trainer chat, weekly reviews, and voice-note transcription; ElevenLabs for live voice; and BVI for Body Scan analysis. Depending on the feature, OpenAI may receive fitness profile and onboarding context, measurements and body metrics, plan and check-in history, connected activity and health summaries when enabled, AI Trainer messages, recent chat history, generated outputs, and voice recordings submitted for transcription. ElevenLabs may receive live voice audio, trainer conversation context, the selected trainer persona, and limited fitness details needed for the session. BVI may receive front and side Body Scan photos, related body inputs, and a technical session identifier when a scan is requested. This information is used only to provide the requested FitPocket feature and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

You can withdraw AI processing permission in Settings → Privacy & AI Data. Withdrawal prevents future AI plan generation, AI Trainer, live voice, and Body Scan provider requests until permission is granted again; it does not automatically delete records already needed for account, safety, support, legal, or backup purposes. Users can request deletion through the privacy request process. FitPocket retains personal information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy, account/support/legal/security obligations, and operational backups. Service providers that handle personal data for FitPocket are required to protect that data to at least the standard described in this policy.

Analytics and marketing

Where analytics are used, we aim to use minimal, generic, and privacy-conscious event data to understand product performance and feature usage. We aim to avoid sending sensitive wellness values, free-text wellness content, progress photos, or AI prompt content to advertising tools or non-essential third-party analytics providers.

Sharing and service providers

Where needed to operate FitPocket, we may use vendors and service providers for hosting, infrastructure, communications, analytics, AI-powered features, and customer support. The AI, voice, and Body Scan providers used for those optional features are identified above. Payments may be processed through Apple App Store or Google Play depending on the platform used. Subscription management, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment method changes are handled through the user's app-store account where applicable. FitPocket does not intentionally collect or store raw card details for mobile app-store purchases.

Storage, retention, and deletion

  • We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for product, legal, security, and operational purposes, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
  • Users can request deletion at any time through Data deletion or by contacting support.
  • Deletion requests may be subject to legal, security, backup, fraud-prevention, dispute, accounting, or other operational limitations.

Cross-border processing

Depending on the services used to operate FitPocket, personal information may be processed in countries outside the user’s country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.

Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption where supported, operational security practices, and vendor governance. More information is available in our Trust Center.

Your rights

Depending on where users live, they may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, export, objection, or restriction of their personal information. We will handle verified requests according to applicable law.

  • Access your personal information or request a copy where applicable.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete account or profile information.
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to applicable limitations.
  • Request export, objection, or restriction where these rights apply.
  • Opt out of messaging at any time by replying STOP where supported.
